    Good morning,

I have such a situation in a family tree.. I was looking for a birth certificate. And it turned out unfortunately that two Józefy with the same name were born in Mysłowice. One in 1839, second in 1844. The parents of the first of 1839 were Lorenz Zioło and Anna née I can't read (help !!) (attachment below), And the latter of 1844 – Franz Zioło and Sophia ZD Pawełczyk. So I decided to look for the death certificate. In the death certificate with 1914 from Podlesie, The age was saved as 71, So closer to the latter Josephy, Only the name of the father was written as ”Carl” Kowal by profession, that is, none of the two options agrees, But the profession of this father Josephy agrees 1839, However, the mother's name was written – Anna. So I decided to check in what years these Josephy got married. And the situation was complicated by the fact that in the wedding record of my great -great -great -grandfather with a great -grandfather Anton Kaps, with 1863 There is no entered the bride's age. While the second Joseph, she married in 1870 For Johan Szmelcerzyka, And here the age of the bride was given – 25 years, What turns out that she was born in 1845. that is, nearly 1844.

I am asking you kindly for help, advice… 🙂 🙂 I have doubts ... I know that you have to be careful here..

    Regards,
    Matthew

    Hello,
From what you’ve said, it seems that the 1844 date is correct. Don’t get tripped up by the death record, because these are naturally more likely to be in error – as a relative fills it in (often without ever meeting the parents). I had one record where the mother of one person was listed as ‘Rosalie’, when her name was actually Marianna, and the father was listed as ‘Johann’ when it was actually Joseph! It seems that this could be the case for you. There are more possible reasons for error of course: they are grieving so their brains aren’t working right, could’ve used middle names and that they could’ve named their own parents even.
    Kind regards,
