It’s bugged me for a long time; I am looking to find the location of an address I have – Brzenskowitz, Goethestrasse 2, mentioned by the Red Cross and other German records during the war.

In an evidence document for the polish army post-war the address is listed as Brzęczkowice, the. (Henryk) Sienkiewicz 2

There is indeed a street that is known by both these names, but the trouble is it is in Brzezinka, Morgi location, which isn’t Brzenskowitz and I can’t establish that the area was ever Brzęczkowice.

It doesn’t help that there doesn’t seem to be an older street map for this area, which neighbours Birkental/Brzezinka and includes Slupna.
So did it change name again? Or is it the location in modern Morgi?

I’d appreciate any help. Thank you

    Hi,
The address on Sienkiewicza Street (ul. Sienkiewicza) has been in the Morgi location for years. Morgi is near Brzezinka and, of course, Brzęczkowice, but it is not the same area.

I have found something interesting for you. Under this link, you can find an old map that shows the Polish vs. German names of streets. Indeed, Sienkiewicza Street was called Goethestrasse.

I hope that it will be usefull for you.

    Hello,

I am grateful for your reply however I have seen this map before.
My question is rather ‘if’ the street is the same street that is written in my documents, or if it is a coincidence – because in all written references (marriage, Red Cross, hospital, military) it is noted as ‘Brzenskowitz’/Brzeczkowice instead of Birkental/Brzezinka or Morgi.

    Best regards,
    George Gloss
