Hello BL,
In the subject of the couple you mentioned, Jakub Kostyra aka Pytel and Zofia Pikos, I can complete, I am looking for ancestors 13.02.1816 r. they married Jacob Pytel years 33 and Sophia Pikosovna years old 19, in the presence of witnesses: Joanne Szayda and Balthasar Glas; they were all from Jaroszowice.
Next to the names of the bride and groom, the exact date of their birth was added later, and so Jacob Pytel was born 01.07.1785 r., a Sophia Pikosowna (tj. Picos) was born 06.03.1798 r.
Given the information you provided, Everything shows that, that these are the parents of the aforementioned Joseph, born in 1823 r. (I've looked at weddings from years here 1792-1817 included in the parish of Bieruń).
In addition, I found, that in the workbook of 1795 r. for Jaroszowice, one Tomek Pytel alias Kostyra is mentioned among the bailiffs.
More arrangements will be possible only based on Jacob's baptismal certificate 1785 r., no less important will be reaching the marriage record of his parents, but here you must direct your steps to the Archdiocesan Archives in Katowice, because there are no scans of metrics from Bieruń available on the Internet 1820 r.

Andrzej27 January 2023 at 22:00 #36691BLUserHello Andrzej, Thank you for your answer.
Very interesting, that the date of birth of Jakub Kostyra aka Pytel and Zofia Pikos was later added to the marriage certificate. Can you share a photo?I would also like to share my observations about the children of Jakub Kostyra aka Pytel and Zofia Pikos. I tested it and counted it 7 children. So, Joseph (b. 22.2.1923) is one of them. See attached scan.
My research interests concern another son of Jakub Kostyra aka Pytel and Zofia Pikos:
His name is Johann Lorenz Pytel (b. 20.6.1827) (scan of birth certificate attached) and later in life he called himself Kostyra again.
He married twice. First widow Zofia Łoska and later married Marianna Urban (or Bednorz).
Marianna and Johann had together 10 children, which 6 died at a very young age.
One of his sons was Jakub Kostyra, born 2.7.1855. He married Elżbieta Niewalda (b. 1860). I am looking for more information about their children.Coming back to your interesting post:
– Do you know the kinship of the aforementioned Tomek Pytel ps. Kostyra with Jakub Kostyra ps. Pytel and Zofia Pikos?
– Is the baptism record of Jakub z 1785 year actually exists? How can I contact the Archdiocesan Archives in Katowice via e-mail?I would be grateful, if you could share more information about this part of the family
Many greetings, B.L.

I am very interested in your findings, but i can't find the right link in family search. Can you post a direct link here? Please also note my last post (##36691). Maybe some finds are also interesting for you?
And: Can you answer some of my questions about the descendant of Jakub Kostyra (b. 2 July 1855) and his wife Elżbieta Niewalda (b. 1860)? I am looking for more information about their children.Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
B.L.28 January 2023 at 14:39 #36702Historyk85UserHello BL,
I don't have a scan of Jakub Pytel and Zofia Pikos's wedding 1816 r., but only the index that I made in the Archdiocesan Archives in Katowice from the digitized record books available in the research laboratory.
I don't know if Tomek Pytel alias Kostyra is listed in the labor book 1795 r. he is somehow related to Jacob, I drew your attention to him because he used the names Pytel and Kostyra, just like Jacob.
The Pytel family aka Kostyra does not belong to my ancestors, so I didn't go into detail about their genealogy.
If you want to delve into this family's past, then you can order a paid genealogical query at the Archdiocesan Archives in Katowice, you will find all the necessary information on their website:
https://archiwum.archidiecezjakatowicka.pl/pl/index/content/16/Baptism records from the Bieruń parish have been preserved since 1763 r., so you can easily find the baptismal record of Jakub z 1785 r.
Everyone interested probably already knows, that the Bieruń records from the years 1820-1874 in the form of scans are available via this website, and thanks to the work of Grażyna, who carefully designed them, they also have access to the Geneteka indexes, so you don't have to post scans in which you duplicate things that are already known.

29 January 2023 at 23:06 #36717BLUserDear Andrew,
thank you for the explanations and information about the Archdiocesan Archives in Katowice. The source was unknown to me until now.Sorry for sending double scans. I consider, that Geneteka's indexes are a great source.
I'm actually writing from abroad and so far I'm only using online enrollment.
About Tomek Pytel alias Kostyra: From what you write, I wasn't sure if you were related. Maybe he's a brother?
I'm looking at the last will of Jakub Pytel ps. I finally decided to compile a list of names that appear in my tree. I hope, that I will find clues and answers there. So I will keep my eyes wide open for Tomek Pytel, because I know, that it was entered in the work book with 1795 year. All the best
B.L.30 January 2023 at 19:26 #36718Historyk85UserDrugs BL,
You were lucky because I was in the Archdiocesan Archives in Katowice and found the baptism records of Jakub and Zofia. The task was not too difficult, because their marriage record also gives the exact dates of both baptisms.
Jacob was born 01.07.1785 r. night and was baptized the same day ("natum hodie noctu"), his parents are Clementis Pytel, chałupnik i Regina Chałupnikowna (i.e. Chałupnik) from Wygorzele. The godparents were: Clemens Myrda from Cielmice and Marianna Bywalcowa from Wygorzele.
Sofia was born 06.03.1798 r. at six o'clock in the morning and was baptized the same day ("natam hodie 6ta mane"), her parents are Jacobi Pikos, bailiff and Regina Glassowna (i.e. Glas) from Wygorzele. The godparents were: Paulus Pustelnik and his wife Marianna from Wygorzele.
Wygorzele is a part of Jaroszowice.

Best, B.L.3 February 2023 at 00:04 #36751ZygmuntUserDear Andrew,
Just a little note (I hope, that not too much “I pick” 😉) to the baptism of Jakub and Sophie Pytlów.
Isn't that so, that Jacobus and Sophia were born and baptized – James and Sophia (bo Accusative – accusative)?I'm sorry for fussing,
Zygmunt

My entry on the parents of my great-grandmother Zofia Maria Loska (1866 -1954), it was about this, that to your family tree, conducted on the open Familysearch platform, I entered (using data from Geneteka) her parents' data. Then I also entered my further (and Andrzej's) ancestors there as well, this time using his findings copiously. I did not miss, of course, indicate the sources of the entered information.
Regards,
Zygmunt

I haven't looked at the Pilorzas yet, but this has been on my mind for a long time. Friday will take care of it soon20 July 2024 at 01:41 #41755RadoUserI am also a descendant of Mateusz Egidiusz Gawlik through his daughter Agnieszka, ur. 14.01.1844, from his second marriage with Zofia Standura (Staindura). This marriage has been concluded 13.08.1839 in Miedźna. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Zofia Standura's ancestors.
Is there anything known about Michał Gawlik's children with Zofia Mijalski?, apart from Matthew?
As you know from this thread, Agnieszka Gawlik married Albert Loska on 21.1.1867, son of Jan Tomasz Loska and Zofia Nycz vel Lissok, born 18.3.1840. Albert Loska was the younger brother of Józef Loska, who married Agnieszka's half-sister, Zofia Agnieszka.
Previously, Agnieszka Gawlik was married to my ancestor Adalbert (Albert, Woytek) Tatojem (Father alias Paschek). They got married 15.09.1861 Bieruń.
Adalbert Tatoj was the son of Jan Tatoj (Tatay), ur. ok. 1801 and Jadwiga Loska, ur. ok. 1803, who got married 21.07.1823 and they lived in Urbanowice. Was Jadwiga Loska the daughter of Wojciech Loska and Marianna Dziubana described here?
Who were Jan Tatoj's parents?
for the record 12 children of Jan Tatoj and Jadwiga Loska:
Anna Marianna 1825-1826
"Club") from the times *1827. She got married 17.2.1840 in Bieruń for Jan Szczygieł.
Jan Walek 1829-1829
Zofia Jadwiga *1830
Adalbert 1832-1866
Jan I 1834-1834
Jadwiga *1835. She got married 25.10.1852 in Bieruń for Aleksander Cyganek.
Katarzyna 1838-1840
Walentyn *1840
Francis *1842. She got married 4.7.1859 in Bieruń for Jan Grzesica.
Paul *1844. He got married 5.8.1872 in Bieruń with Maria Kozok.
Jan II 1847-1847Regards,
