On 21 January 2015 r. the Upper Silesian Genealogical Society “Silesian Roots” signed an agreement with the State Archives in Katowice, under which members of the Society will digitise genealogical records in the State Archive, This is currently not being done within the scope of ongoing tasks of the National Archives. We will gradually post digitised records from the registry books on this website. The records cover the years 1800-1874 and are duplicates of parish records, which were submitted to the court, because at that time Registry Offices had not been established, in Prussia until 1874 r.
We will publish books classified by the three main faiths., which are:. Roman Catholic, Evangelical and Jewish within the area of historical Upper Silesia.

The State Archive in Katowice has given us free access to the registry books, We also hope to provide access free of charge on this website. However we do have website maintenance costs, and therefore, each donation, no matter how small,, will help pay for the overheads of providing , digital transcription and on-line publication of the archives.
