    2. Siedliska/Siedlisk
    3. Budziska/Budzisk

    Best regards

    Czesc Jurek,

I wrote a longer answer yesterday but unfortunately it was not posted yet probably due to incorporated links. To make it short: In the Untertaner section of the Kataster only such villages appeared, that had at least one really peasent (Bauer / Rolnik). Smaller villages that consisted only of Gärtner/ogrodniki and Häusler / komorniki might only appear in the Herrschaft section, which is mostly lost for Prussian Silesia. Tiefensee does not appear in the Summarbuch (ZOA Opava 1191-87), which lists every village (Untertaner and Herrschaft) that was once covered my the Kataster nore do some other villages of the Amt Rothschloss (Białobrzezie) to which Tiefensee belonged. I would check the concerning section of the Wrede Kriegskarte (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Signatur: 2° Kart. N 15060-1/5) to see what was going on administratively. Maybe the Amt Rothschloss was under a different administration than the Nimptsch district.

    Pozdrawiam
    Viktor

    Czesc Alfred,

here it is the case that the villages probably did not contain any Bauern (rolniki) and thus were not listed in the Untertaner section of the kataster. At least (Ratibor) Hammer and Budzisk appear in the Summarbuch in the Herrschaft section for the Ratibor district. Unfortunately the Herrschaft files for Prussian Silesia are mostly lost due to the Second World War. It is the same for the village of origin of my family (Taciszów, powiat gliwicki). Again here I would also check the Wrede map.

    Pozdrawiam
    Viktor

    Hello Viktor,

Thank you for your explanations. In fact, Siedliska and Budziska may not have had farmers, because the fields were of poor quality. The inhabitants of Ratiborhammer lived mainly from work in industry and there were no farmers.
    The monograph on Raciborhammer states:
„According to the census of 1747, the village had 274 inhabitants and had an estate.”
Do you know what this census is? Maybe it’s the part of the kataster that’s missing?

    Greetings
    Alfred

    Hi Alfred,

I believe the 1747 is the Friderizianische Kataster which is also lost.

    Greetings
    Viktor

    Hello Viktor,

Too bad, but there’s nothing we can do about it.

    Greetings

    Hello Viktor,

Almost all villages of the Amt Rothschloss are in the Kataster (Tomus xxii-xxvi). An obvious exception is Rothschloss itself, because there were no farmers. Tiefensee is another exception – there were taxpayers – Gaertners only.
Thank you very much for your answer – it seems, as there were probably no Bauers, the Kataster does not contain Tiefensee. I guess, that people in Tiefensee paid taxes, so somewhere there is Kataster of Tiefensee. If you knew something more, where to find Tiefensee let me know, please.

    Best regards,
    Jurek

    Czesc Jurek,

if they had no farmers, I would expect these villages to at least be listed in the lost Herrschaft section – but apparently they were not. This can be seen from the list of villages that the Kataster originally contained: ZOA Opava 1191-87

I also missed some other villages of the Amt Rothschloss except Rothschloss itself and Tiefensee.

    For me it remains mysterious.

    Pozdrawiam
    Viktor
