NieaktywneHello, I am new to this forum, live in Australia and am wondering if anyone can help me. I am trying to obtain information on my family (KLIMAS)who came from Suszec and I think Kryry. I am trying to get hold of my Uncle’s and Grandfather’s Birth Certificates. My Uncle Paul Klimas was born 10-1-1891 and died during the First World War. My Grandfather Johann I am not sure what was Year he was born, though I do know he died around 1925 in either Suszec or Rybnik . How and who do I contact to try and obtain this information, thank you, Edmund Klimas

UżytkownikHello there,
Suszec birth certificates from year 1891 can be found in the national archives in Pszczyna, Poland. Unfortunately they are not accesable by Internet, so if by any chance you’ll be here in Poland you should go there and order an archive:
„486/0 Urząd Stanu Cywilnego w Suszcu”
About your grandfather, its more complicated matter, if you have more specific date of death you can order his death certificate directly in Suszec because certificates from 1909 and above are not yet in general archives but in registry office of particular cities.
Anyway this matters will be most likely to handle only in Poland but you can try call or write to this places so they may help you and guide you further.
Greetings

NieaktywneHello Damian, Wow, that’s fantastic, thank you, this has made my day 🙂 I really appreciate the information and all your help. If you are able to get some free time I would be very grateful if you can check if my Grandfather Johann Klimas Baptism is in the book, I know that he was born in Suszec as well but not the date.I would imagine though that he was born between 1887-1890. He has the same first name as his father so I imagine he is the oldest brother and also served in the First World War. my Grandother Martha Polczyk was born 24-1-1898. I also had another Uncle born in Suszec who died in the First War called Michael Klimas. His date of birth is 18-9-? Unfortunately we don’t know the Year but I believe it would be between 1889-1896.
Once again thank you for the information and your amazing help 🙂
Alwexis, Thank you as well for the information, I will use the Polish Consulate in Sydney to try and get hold of a Birth Certificate 🙂

NieaktywneDamien, that’s incredible, I can’t believe how much information you’ve found on my family. This has made me so happy, I owe you a big drink 🙂 I didn’t realise how big the family was and how far back it goes. So many more Uncles and Aunt’s I did not know about. I presume Michael Klimas must have been the son of one of my Uncles. I have attached a couple of photos so you can put faces to the people you have researched. One photo is of Grandfather Johann Klimas and Grandmother Martha Klimas (Polczyk) on their wedding day. Grandfather born in 1879 and Grandmother 1898 so a few years between them. The other photo is of My Grandfather Johann and I think with his Mother Marie Klimas (Blazyca) and brother Jozef.
Once again Damiem thank you for all your help 🙂 Edmund

AdministratorHappy to help. I was looking on, but in a month . This parish of my paternal ancestor . Beautiful pictures and the buildings in the background. I do not care a book with pictures of people from the parish Suszec . I think there were pictures of families Błażyca . I will check
PS.Maybe someday you examine their DNA. I wonder what will be your haplogroup . I have very rare in Poland J2b2a1

NieaktywneThanks Damien, anything else you can find including pictures of the Blazyca’s if there are any would be great. Yes I agree this parish is a beautiful place. I would love to have a DNA Test to find out my haplogroup. It would be interesting to see the results. I will have to look on the internet to see the best place to do the test. Can you recommend a DNA Tester? Just checked out J2b2a1 , wow that is rare in Poland. I think it is amazing that you can trace your exact origin through DNA Testing. 🙂
