Dzień dobry!
The ancestors of my father’s grandfather originated from the districts of Rybnik / Ratibor. The paternal name I am looking for is „Serafin” (Seraphin, Seraffin)
With a lot of time and a lot of requests I managed to get back to:
Simon Serafin (born (calculated from death record) about 1725, ist gestorben 1805 in Lohnitz (Łańce))
his wife: Margaretha Niewrzoł (born (calculated from death record) about 1727, ist gestorben 1807 in Lengow (Łegów))
With the beginning of church records 1765/66 they appeared in Gaschowitz (Gaszowice), first child baptized there in 1766. Unfortunately no marriage or information where they came from.
Later they moved to Pogwizdow (Pogwisdow) (part of Gaszowice), then to Lohnitz (Łańce) and later to Pstrzonsna (Pstrążna).
Just to mention: in 1777 & 1780 the name is written as: „Gabrisz”, „Gabrys oder Seraphin”
Depending on the „Karolinischer Kataster” (Kataster Karoliński) in the 1720s there is no Serafin / Niewrzol mentioned.
Neither is one of the names common there – so I guess they just moved to the parish of Lissek (Lyski)
Does anybody have an idea how I can get further back? Can you help me?
