That was helpful. I also have been unable to find birth records for Fedor. However, the death details help to answer an inconsistency. Previous information was that Fedor died in 1875, but last month my German colleague sent me an 1876 death record of Fedor’s wife Helene, which was witnessed by Fedor.
I am aware of Peter Lax’s website, and we have already been corresponding for the first time this week.
